My Latest Projects
a sampling of some of my latest projects. to be clear, if you have not realized this about me yet, i believe self-hosted wordpress is the only way to go if there is any chance your business is going to need to adapt or grow. it is because of the endless opportunities that plugins bring to wordpress that we can make anything happen on your site. i do not post all of my projects on my site, i post at my own discretion. schedule a creative consult if you'd like to see how your business fits in.

art center of the bluegrass
What an exciting project! I have been working with so many artists the past 5 years, I was so excited to take on the complete redesign + development of Art Center of the Bluegrass. The Art Center of the Bluegrass connects people to art, culture, and creativity. Bringing 30,000 people through the doors each year for the national glass museum, art exhibits, classes, workshops, retail space, café, events, community gatherings, cultural conversations, and ceramics studio. The Art Center of the Bluegrass, reimagining what an art center can be.
What an opportunity to create a space that felt + functioned like the premier art center that it is. Fully custom site, centered around their vast expansion project. Niki Kinkade, the Executive Director for ACB, wanted a vibrant, modern, but elegant approach. I began with the main site, Art Center of the Bluegrass and then carried it through the 3 new areas of expansion. GLASS National Art Museum, Murrini Café, Fern: Curated Gifts. The 3 additional sites are one page informational sites that we will continue to expand on.
This was the first site that I have started to use my own images in the design. All of the photography and art images are mine. I created each one exclusively for the project. I believe this is a total game changer for bringing a client's vision to life.

jeanne oliver
This is a community of almost 50,000. The project starting in 2017, was to move from NING to self hosted wordpress while keeping all members in place including their enrollments active in each of their courses. All aspects of the site as a whole had to be developed and designed out.
After getting the backend where I wanted it, I then custom designed the frontend such as course layout pages, workshops, portfolio, shop, about, press, profiles, all pages from the start of the site through Feb 7, 2020. Integrating business solutions for supporting such a large community.
After I designed + developed JeanneOliver.com I stayed on for 2+ years to continue designing + developing + maintaining the site and therefore took on a very limited amount of new clients. After finishing the custom development of Creatively Made Business at the first of 2020, I decided I needed to focus more on my own projects and stepped down from JO.

Lorraine Bell
Lorraine came to me with her Square Space website that she had outgrown and could no longer get the results she was needing to focus on where she wanted her business to go.
We started with importing her Square Space site into self-hosted wordpress. From there I was able to build out a site she will never out grow. Custom pages for every aspect of her art business along with setting up the ability to host her own courses and podcast.
With every graphic I designed, I also put it into Canva along with all of her design elements so she can continue to create new ones, or use as templates.
Custom tutorials were added the back of her site along with all the tutorials she needs to learn how to use her new wordpress site. What a complete joy Lorraine was to work with! Go check her out.

Rochelle Gaukel
Rochelle came to me at a time when I was closing my queue to work on my new course, The Obtainable Website. But her work was so beautiful and she ended up being just as beautiful of a person, I could not say no.
Rochelle had beautiful images all ready to go of her work. As an artist that is such a huge step in getting started. Just from her first upload of images, I could immediately see a vision for developing the site around them. Her palette jumped out just as fast. Working in neutrals alongside a pop of color, just enough to not compete with your art is the key for most artist. The font Rochelle chose gives a vintage vibe but with a modern take. Lining up completely with her art, voice, and other design elements but on the site and off. Keeping her brand clear.
Like most clients today, she also included offering courses on her new site. Such a great opportunity to diversify your offerings.

Kecia Deveney
Kecia also came to me from her Square Space website that she had outgrown. This happens so often. Square Space will work for you until you outgrow it.
Kecia had a photographer take images or her, her work and her studio for us to work with. It always makes the beginning steps of defining a client's brand out when you can see such quality imagery mixed with written copy. You want to design from this, not design and then try to fit things in.
Kecia is an excellent example of not staying neutral. Her colors are vibrant. The key is she uses the colors across all of her work in one or the other so the colors do not compete.
We expanded Kecia's reach with adding the ability to offer courses right on her site as well. Kecia dove in, like all of my clients and began to learn how to run her business on the backend as well as the front.

Alex castro ferreira
Alex and I met right as the pandemic hit. Her work is just absolutely stunning. She wanted more from her website and found herself a bit stuck.
I came in and restructured the entire site through development, design and function. We have now added the ability for Alex to have her own courses on her site as well. She has had great success in offering her courses. We continue to add as Alex grows in her business. Recently, adding In Person Workshops and Retreats!

Melissa auclair
Melissa came to me after she had tried to do it alone on wordpress but could not get the site to come together the way she wanted to offer her art and business. She had learndash on the site already to offer courses but it was not functioning correctly. It is a tedious process to get all working together seamlessly. It was time to get serious and be all in.
I had Melissa capture some images and then upload them. I worked with them, pulling out ones I saw that would go with the different sections of her site. I created a filter for them all to run through to keep her aesthetic along with custom design elements. I created a logo with many variations as I do with all custom projects. A single version does not work across the many places you will use your logo. You will need to display it differently and should be able to pull from your variations to keep within your overall brand.
